The first season presents a diverse group of personalities residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds with songs detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession. The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve? "Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated earlier this year. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!" The creator says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series. That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 moves, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds now. "I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members." She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts. "I've seen a few fans create a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy." Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on October 29.
